Jenerous is a social enterprise non-profit fashion brand that supports communities in India, through the production and sale of our clothing.
We sell stylish, affordable and Fair Trade clothing, for women and girls, combining Indian artisan hand block printing with contemporary style. All of our clothing is made in Fair Trade factories and we are a WFTO First Buyer. By working with Fair Trade and ethical suppliers in India, we are ensuring that the people that make our clothing are paid fairly and have safe working conditions. The majority of our products are made in a small certified WFTO factory in Southern India called Jacobs Well. The factory is transforming the lives of India’s urban poor through sustainable employment and personal development. They train and employ vulnerable young people from low socio-economic backgrounds who often have few employment or training opportunities.
We also support skilled artisan communities in India, such as our ethical block printing supplier. The printers use sustainable practices, and eco-friendly dyes, protecting the environment and workers from harmful chemicals.
Our clothing is made from sustainable and deadstock fabrics, the majority of our collection being made from organic cotton. We include a small amount of deadstock fabric in our collection, which reduces potential landfill and supports local Indian businesses. We have recently launched Jenerous Pre-loved, to encourage return and re-sale, extending the life of our clothing. Our collection includes a selection of mini-me matching girls dresses and zero waste accessories.
As our brand name suggests, we are a brand that gives back from every sale to support our team in India and donate to charity projects. Jenerous is a registered CIC (Community Interest Company) and is on a mission to make a positive difference, and empower and transform lives through fashion.
